Siblingship Test (brother/sister)
Price: Rs. 22400/-*
Testing: Two alleged siblings
Timeframe: Within 15 working days from receipt of samples at one of our collection centres.
This
DNA test determines the statistical probability of whether siblings
(brothers and sisters) share the same two parents or not. The
relationship between alleged siblings (full or half) can be established
with 15% exclusion and 90% inclusion conclusivity.
When
the issue of siblingship is in question, the recommended method to
determine whether individuals are true biological siblings is to test
their parents. In situations where the alleged parents are unavailable
for testing, a siblingship DNA test can be performed to analyze the
relationship of biological siblings. Including one common parent
greatly increases the accuracy of this type of DNA analysis and is
recommended if at all possible.

Y-STR Male Lineage DNA Test
Price: Rs. 26000/-*
Testing: Two males
Timeframe: Within 15 working days from receipt of samples at one of our collection centres.
The
Y-STR male lineage DNA test is used to determine whether two or more
males are related through their paternal lineage. The Y chromosome is
passed from father to son and has a relatively infrequent mutation
rate, thus it remains the same through many generations.
This
DNA test focuses on the Y chromosome and results in a unique Y-STR
profile for each male tested. It is important to note that this DNA
test will not differentiate between men that are in the same paternal
lineage.
For example, if a male
child "A" and his alleged half brother Child "B" (Child "B" having a
different mother than Child "A") want to know if they have the same
biological father, and they have the same Y-STR DNA profile, it is
practically proven that they share the same father. If the profiles do
not match, then they do not share the same biological father.
This is just one of many circumstances in which the Y-STR DNA test can be applied. Review the chart above as a guide. Please contact us for more information. |

X-SV Female Lineage DNA Test
Price: Rs. 35000/-*
Testing: Two applicants with shared maternal lineage
Timeframe: Within 15 working days from receipt of samples at one of our collection centres.
The
X-SV female lineage DNA test is used to determine whether two or more
females are related through their maternal lineage, or if male and/or
female children have the same biological mother. The Mitochondrial DNA
sequence variation is passed from females to their children and has a
relatively infrequent mutation rate, thus it remains the same through
many generations. (Males do not pass the X-SV they inherited from their
mother to their children).
This DNA test
focuses on the Mitochondrial DNA and results in a unique X-SV profile
for each individual tested. It is important to note that this test will
not differentiate women that are in the same maternal lineage or
children with the same mother.
For example, if a
female Child "A" and her alleged half brother Child "B" (Child "B"
having a different father than Child "A") want to know if they have the
same maternal biological grandmother, and they have the same X-SV
profile, it is very likely that they are of the same maternal lineage.
If the X-SV profiles do not match, then they neither share the same
maternal biological grandmother, nor do they share the same maternal
lineage.
This is just one of many circumstances
in which the X-SV test can be applied. Review the chart to the right as
a guide. Please contact us for more information. |

Avuncular DNA Test (grandparent/aunt/uncle)
Price: Rs. 22400/-*
Testing: Child and alleged grandparent/aunt/uncle
Timeframe: Within 15 working days from receipt of samples at one of our collection centres.
This
DNA test can be used to assess genes from the paternal (or maternal)
side of the family, even when DNA from the alleged father (or mother)
is unavailable, by establishing a link between the DNA of a child and
the DNA of an alleged grandparent, aunt or uncle. It is important to
note that grandparents, aunts and uncles will have only one quarter of
their genes in common with a child, whereas parents and children have
half their genes in common. Because of this two-fold dilution of genes,
the test cannot achieve as accurate results as a parent-offspring DNA
test. Nonetheless, it will provide a numerical probability for the
alleged familial relationship.

Non -Invasive Prenatal Paternity Test (Without Sex Determination):
In a non-invasive Prenatal Paternity Test, fetal DNA circulating in the mother’s blood is detected and analyzed using microarray SNP technology, comparing the markers between the child and alleged father to determine paternity. The alleged father is considered the biological father when the test detects at least 99.9% of the required markers in the alleged father’s DNA.
Who needs to be tested?
Blood samples are required from the father (5 ml) and mother (2 tubes of 10 ml each with about 8ml blood)
Turnaround Time
8 business days from receipt of all samples
Chain of Custody Requirements
Chain of custody requirements must be fulfilled for test results to be defensible in any legal situation, such as inheritance disputes. These requirements include the following:
- Samples are collected by a neutral third party, such as a clinic or laboratory.
- The individuals tested are positively identified (i.e., they present a government-issued ID or a recent photograph).
- INB Affiliate LAB Prenatal Blood Collection Kit (provided when an appointment is scheduled).
This kit contains blood tubes with special preservatives that hinder degradation of the fetal DNA in the mother's blood. It also contains the consent forms that the mother and alleged father are required to sign.
Test restrictions
We are currently unable to provide testing to the following:
- Recipients of a bone marrow or stem cell transplant
- Cases that involve related alleged fathers
Notes
- This test uses fetal DNA released from placental cells into the mother’s blood. Placental cells undergo a natural life cycle during the course of the baby’s development. As new cells grow, older cells slough off and disintegrate, releasing fetal DNA into the mother’s blood.
- It is recommended to wait until 10 weeks gestational age before attempting to do this test. INB Affiliate LAB does not require proof of gestational age, but the chances of detecting fetal DNA in the mother’s blood increases with the age of the fetus.
- Because we are using free-floating fetal DNA instead of circulating fetal cells, previous pregnancies will not affect this test. Fetal DNA does not last long in the mother’s blood after the baby is born.
- Likewise, a previous blood transfusion will not affect the test, as long as it was performed more than one week before the blood draw.
- The risk associated with non-invasive prenatal paternity testing is no greater than any other blood draw that is performed on a pregnant woman during the course of her pregnancy.
This test does not provide any other genetic information about the fetus (eg. sex or inherited traits/disease markers).

Non-invasive Prenatal Genetic Testing for Fetal Down Syndrome – The NIFTY Test:
As a pregnant women: Are you worrying about Down syndrome? Do you feel uncomfortable with the 10-35% chances of missing the diagnosis with the screening test? Are you worrying about the 5-7% false positive rate with the screening test, making you undergo an invasive test uncertainly?? Are you worrying about the 0.5% fetal loss associated with amniocentesis or CVS? If YES!!!!! You should consider the NIFTY test.
What is NIFTY test?
NIFTY stands for Non – Invasive Fetal Trisomy test. What is needed just 8 ml blood sample from the mother (Not Fetus). By detecting fetal chromosomal material in the sample with new generation high throughput technologies, combined with advanced bioinformatic analysis, the NIFTY test provide an estimation of the fetal risk being affected by Trisomy 13, 18 and 21.
How accurate is it?
This test detects >99% of pregnancies affected by Down syndrome. The fetal false positive rate is <1%.
At What week should I have the test?
This test can be done any time after 12 weeks and upto 24 weeks of gestation.
What is the reporting Time?
The report is available within 2 weeks in 90% of cases.
Who should consider NIFTY test?
- Any pregnant woman who wants prenatal screening / diagnosis of fetal Down syndrome may consider adopting the NIFTY test, which is without risk and is highly accurate.
- Pregnant women who already have a positive traditional screening test for Down syndrome may consider the NIFTY test to avoid the unnecessary invasive test due to false positivity.
Major advantages of the NIFTY test are:
- It is highly accurate, close to diagnostic test
- Absolutely safe without putting the fetus or pregnancy at any risk.

Why choosing NIFTY?
With the traditional diagnostic and screening test for fetal Down syndrome, many pregnant women are anxious in making a decision because they have to choose either to accept the risk of fetal losses with amniocentesis / CVS or to accept a screening test which has 10-35% chance of failing in identifying the affected fetuses.
Furthermore, most screening test can only be performed during a specific gestation period. On the other hand, NIFTY is absolutely safe without any risk to the fetus or the mother, with an accuracy of >99% and, best of all, can be done any time after 12 week of gestation. Therefore NIFTY is currently the best method for prenatal diagnosis of fetal Down syndrome.
Pregnant women with the following conditions should make future enquiries with doctors about suitability of using the NIFTY test:
- Multiple pregnancies
- If you or your partner is known to have balanced Robertsonian translocation involving chromosome number 21N.B.
- The test report will NOT include fetal sex.
Clinical information collected during the performances of this test will be used for the purposes of auditing, quality assurance and research. All personal information will be removed for such analysis, and all individual will remain anonymous and unidentifiable in all stages of these processes.
